Class Descriptions:

PreBallet Ages 2.5-4
Come dance and play -  children will learn the basics of ballet while having fun and using their  imagination in a musical environment. We use parachutes for coordination and  rhythm and learn the basic ballet concepts like pointing toes, stretching and loosening muscles and joints and the first five positions. In this class, we  will be concentrating on preparing the young body and setting the base for more  intense training as they progress. This is a FUN class!  Tutu's and ballerina  dress ups are highly encouraged. Parent participation is not required but PLEASE  do not leave your child unattended.

Ballet 1 Ages  5-7
This class in extremely  important and will set the stage (so to speak) for later technical/artistic ability. We'll focus on learning the structure of a classical ballet class and  progress into simple ballet steps. This is a time to learn large motor skills, while moving in musical phrases; practice following directions; hone  memorization skills by remembering the order of exercises and learn cooperation  by working in a group. Work at the barre is minimal just to help with  balance and class structure. We'll divide barre time with rhythmic studies and creative movement. This class is recommended at least once a week.

Ballet 2 Ages 8-12
This is a solid ballet class. I want to train dancers to use their bodies correctly, focusing on kinetics and coordination as well as their anatomy and proper body alignment. With this training, I hope to provide students with a rich knowledge of classical ballet technique. With a proper base, students should be able to acquire the ability to adapt to all styles and techniques of dance. This class is recommended twice a week.

Ballet 3 / Teen  Ages 13 and  up
This is a more  advanced continuation of Ballet #2 class. Prior ballet experience is recommended. Ballet #3 could also benefit and are welcome to take Adult classes for extra training. This class is recommended at least 2/3 times a week or more if interested in a fast paced progression.

Pre-Pointe / Pointe Class /Company Class - By  Invitation Only
Pointe work training is an essential part of becoming a ballerina. In order to be able to dance on pointe, a dancer must have had time to achieve the form, strength and alignment needed to make a successful transition into pointe work. Proper  technique is required to be able to properly rise on the toes without risk of  injury.  Variations class is a way to learn and properly execute excerpts from classical ballets that are being used in today's professional companies. This is a great way to learn a piece for ballet/college program auditions. An invitation is necessary from an instructor prior to registration.

Open Adult Balle
Ballet is not only graceful and athletic but can be a  great way to stay in shape. Ballet is one of the most physically demanding  activities in the world. Flexibility and strength are essential and whether you're goal is to become a pro or you just want a good workout, everyone can  benefit from this kind of training. This is a NON competitive environment, adult  students can simply relax, have a good time and workout at a speed that's comfortable for them. ALL Levels Welcome!

JAZZ - Level 1, 2 & 3/Teen

A commercial style of dance with an emphasis on technique that includes hip hop, contemporary and theatrical dance routines performed to popular music.
JAZZ Fitness
Jazz Fitness is an exercise class that uses jazz dance techniques to help strengthen and stretch your body while dancing to fun, popular music. You will be taught to combine exercise and dance, with the goal of helping you achieve a strong, healthy body while enjoying music and learning a few dance moves

Private  Coaching
Everyone's body and  technical approach is different. One on one instruction is the most effective  way to ensure that you're getting the best training specifically tailored to  meet your needs as a dancer. Whether you're training for a competition, audition  or just would like to enhance your current curriculum, private coaching is the  fastest way to see improvements.

Dress Code
A dress code ensures that a teacher will be able to  see a dancer's alignment and positioning. Most dance studios require students to wear form fitting/yet supportive leotards and tights, sometimes requiring classical pink or skin colored tights in order to make the lines of the legs visible.
Girls Ballet- Form fitting leotard  (any color), skin colored/classical pink tights only, leather or canvas soft ballet slippers (I prefer NON split sole - PLEASE email me if you have further questions or need help in finding them) A small sheer wrap around skirt is acceptable.
Jazz  - NO black rubber soled Jazz shoes (unless they have suede soles) Otherwise light colored jazz shoes acceptable or soft soled ballet shoes or socks.  Any form fitting exercise attire that easy to move in is appropriate.
Hair - Hair should be  tied back securely away from face. Classic bun, french twist or short pony tails.
Boys - T-shirt, comfortable shorts, socks and soft ballet shoes. Age  appropriate male support.
Adults - Any form fitting exercise attire that is comfortable and you can move easily in.
PreBallet - Tutu's and ballerina  dress ups are highly encouraged!!!
